The Art of Ikebana Workshop

The Flower Council of Holland team here at Fever kicked off 2020 with the perfect antidote to the tedium of January. Harnessing the ancient wisdom of Japanese Ikebana we launched a meditative floral workshop in partnership with Ikebana professor and expert, Tomoko Sempo Yanagi at Japan House.

What’s Ikebana I hear you say? Ikebana is the ancient Japanese practice of mindful flower arranging. Highly regarded as a ritual for self-care and wellness we invited media and influencers to give it a go. The workshop started off with a traditional tea ceremony followed by the chance to get creative as Tomoko helped guests create their own striking sculptural floral arrangements using flowers such as Liatris, rose, lithianthus, Iris, straight pine tree to take home, complete with an authentic vase all the way from Japan.

14 media and influencers attended, including Wallpaper*, City AM, Daily Telegraph, HELLO!, YOU Magazine, PA Media, Liberty London Girl and We Love Home which resulted in 46x social posts during the event. Feedback was glowing with HELLO! praising it as “A wonderful evening of mindfulness to come to in January” while City AM echoed their sentiment calling it “A beautiful, well organised event; a lovely evening and slick from start to finish” and well YOU Magazine said they had a “fabulous time”.

Safe to say the event was a quietly roaring success, but the Fever team didn’t stop there. With a consumer workshop taking place on Saturday 8th February and selling out in just 4 days, the team tapped up our best contacts to drive listings coverage across national and consumer lifestyle titles including Stylist, Telegraph Online, City AM, Country & Townhouse, HELLO! Online and BALANCE.
