NOW TV Box Set Bingo

This week we launched the first ever NOW TV Box Set Bingo. Designed as a unique evening to engage with key media and showcase the vast array of content on the service we hosted a mixer event with entertainment and lifestyle media like no other. Now this wasn’t like bingo you’ve ever experienced before – oh no. Instead, catchphrases of memorable characters old and new and iconic theme tunes were played, alongside a TV Trivia final round to really separate the TV aficionados from the casual watchers.

Our fabulous and entertaining compere, radio host Matt Edmondson introduced each round and challenged our journalists to get involved, adding an air of comedy to the evening’s procedures with his quick wit and hosting skills

The quiz took place at the Coin Laundry in Clerkenwell, where we transformed the space into a NOW TV-themed bingo hall, complete with lifesized cutouts of Kim Kardashian and The Rock and an extensive themed cocktail list with drinks such as G&TV and more.

Attending the event and testing their box set knowledge included top media titles such as Buzzfeed, LadBible, the Mail on Sunday, Digital Spy and the Daily Star to name just a few – with 42 attendees in total. In between the action, guests were eager to post on social (with the help of a GIF-able photobooth and themed props) and Twitter feeds were soon buzzing with #boxsetbingo which was tweeted over 400 times across the course of the evening.

The aim of the event was to strengthen relationships and showcase the content available on the service and we truly surpassed expectations with the level of attendance, interaction and overall engagement. Don’t hang up your bingo dabbers for too long though, as who knows, after such a successful night we might be in for a round two next year…
