This Week We Have Been . . .

Mingling at the MOBO nominations…  After announcing HTC’s super exciting partnership with the MOBOs, we headed down to Soho’s Floridita to find out who would be in contention at the MOBO awards come the 3rd November. The HTC team tucked into champagne and canapés whilst watching some of the best up and coming musical talent in the UK. Performances from Delilah, Misha B and Angel would have stolen the show if it wasn’t for Tulisa’s “super-slimming skintight dress” (The Sun). Keep your eyes peeled for some MOBO-based HTC fun in the near future!

Munching on duck, plum and doughnut burgers… Launched to tie in with LFW (though we’re not sure how many fashionistas eat burgers!), Mercedes-Benz teamed up with Bompass and Parr to create the ultimate luxury drive-thru experience at Selfridges. The Big Mac was given the Bompass and Parr treatment and replaced with a ‘Big Merc’: a turbo-charged duck burger complete with plum ‘lube’ in a sugary doughnut bun and elderflower and parma violet squash – all served by roller-booting waitresses. Tapping into the hot trend for meat (Dirty Burger) and food ‘experiences’ this was a drive-thru with a difference.

Catching up with Hitchcock at the BFI… we got to see Alfred Hitchcock’s tense family thriller Shadow of a Doubt on the big screen, as part of the brilliant Genius of Hitchcock season at the BFI. Apparently it was his personal favourite, too…
