The Bakery Inspiration Day

Last week, we headed to The Bakery’s annual ‘Inspiration Day’ – hosted at their offices in the heart of Tech City: Old Street. For those who don’t know, The Bakery allows brands to engage with early stage technology companies that are ready to go straight to market, rather than requiring huge amounts of investment; meaning low-cost, low-risk, immediate solutions to marketing conundrums. #winning!

The Inspiration Day is an opportunity for a selection of hand-picked tech companies to present their product to a room full of brand managers and agency bods,Dragon’s Den-styley. With only three minutes to pitch, we saw seven budding entrepreneurs take to the stage in an attempt to woo the audience with a range of apps; from payment solutions to digital dieticians.

One app that caught our eye was Impulse. Already trialled by Walls, Impulse uses beacon technology to offer an on-demand delivery service direct to purchasers. Basically this means if you are in the park with your mates and really fancy an ice-cream but can’t be bothered to move, you can download the app, choose your ice cream, and have them delivered straight to where you are sitting. Cool, huh?
